April 13, 2024

With gratitude we have an update! Thanks to your generosity and support enough money has been raised in both accounts to fly Jan home. She will be traveling this weekend and will be transferred to a hospital in Rochester to continue her care. There will undoubtedly be more medical expenses in the weeks and months ahead. Your love and support along with your donations have made this part of her journey possible and the family is truly grateful.

Thank you so very much.

Please help us bring Jan home.

We are setting up this fund to help Janice Armstrong. Jan is in hospital in Florida and needs critical care transport by air ambulance to be transferred to a hospital in Rochester, NY. This transport will be a staggering expense, but necessary for the next part of Jan's journey.

What we're trying to do

Jan and Tom were spending time in Florida when Jan became very ill and was hospitalized. She has complex and serious medical conditions affecting almost every system in her body and her condition is worsening. Because of her medical status, she is unable to travel by any other mode, either ground or air. Jan has been cared for in Florida since March 23, 2024 but she wants to come home. There isn’t a clear prognosis so while the future is unknown to us, we trust that coming home is going to provide her more peace, comfort, and community support.

If you are local to Rochester, NY, please consider giving to the local fund for greater efficiency of donations. All of the money raised in both funds will go to one account to be used for Jan’s transportation and medical costs.

Jan has prayed for, fed, cared for, taken in, and loved so many of us over the years. She is an integral part of her community and her family. Her heart and her home have always been open to everyone; she has given freely and now we have an opportunity to give back. Anything you are able to offer will be received with gratitude by Jan, Tom, and their whole family.
